"I was on the upper floor when there was the sound of a huge explosion downstairs. I found many of my colleagues lying on the floor full of blood." this quote is from a employee of World Food Programme (WFP) which was the site for a suicide bombing in Islamabad, the Pakistani capital. 5 employees were killed, 1 Iraqi and 4 Pakistani women. The bomber entered the building by posing as a paramilitary officer and asking to use the bathroom. Security cameras saw him walking in with a half-metre long cylindrical object in one hand. This makes me wonder why he wasn't seen as suspicious in the first place. If something like that were to happen here in the United States, especially in a goverment building, It would never fly!
"There was no claim of responsibility, but blame immediately fell on the Taliban, amid an upsurge of suicide bombings as the new leadership vow to avenge the death of their commander Baitullah Mehsud in a US," says the article as posted on Yahoo! News.
Personally, it amazes me how people will sacrifice their own lives to take the lives of others. Feel free to comment on how you feel about suicide bombings and the mindset of the bombers themselves.
