Missles in Iran

Well this is my first post on blogger so bare with me.
As you can tell from the title of my blog, I will be writing about the current events in the Middle East. I take high interest in this topic and am also taking a history class focusing on the conflict in the Middle East which focuses mostly on Israeli and Palestine. For this blog I will talk about both current events in countries all over the Middle East, including Israel and Palestine seeing as that's a big part of the headlines in the Middle East.
Today front pages of Al Jazeera focus on newly test launched missles in Iran. Shahab 3 and Sejil missiles were fired on Monday, the second day of military exercises by Iran's Revolutionary Guard forces. This is a big deal because many countries including Britain, France and all of Europe are worried of course about warfare.
"We call on Iran to choose the path of co-operation rather than confrontation, by immediately ceasing these deeply destabilising activities," a statement from the French foreign ministry said.
Personally I don't feel comfortable with Iran or any aggresive countries having nuclear weapons. However, It's only practical to think that most all countries have nuclear weapons. It's just a feeling of uneasiness when thinking that a country could decide to set one off at the drop of a hat and destroy tons of civilan lives. The testing of Iran's missles comes just days before the meeting of the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council in Tehran, the capital of Iran. This also is raising a lot of eyebrows.
So this is my first post, please feel free to comment or make any suggestions on what you'd like to hear regarding the Middle East. It's actually a really interesting topic if you take the time to look deeper into it!
