Palestinian Hostage Released.

Sheikh Raed Salah

Sheikh Raed Salah was arrested by Israeli forces for supporting the Islamic movement. He was arrested during clashes between Palestinians and police in the neighbourhood of Wadi Joz in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem on the third day of intermittent violence in the city. "However, a Jerusalem [al-Quds] court on Tuesday ordered Salah's release several hours later, but on the condition he not enter Jerusalem for 30 days in an attempt to maintain a tense calm."

This is a big deal because Jerusalem is very important to the people of Islam. It's the holy city where the al-Aqsa mosque is located that Muslims go to pray. In my opinion I think it's unfair to ban him from the city he goes to to pray. The issues between the Israelis and Palestinians revolve a lot around the holy city of Jerusalem. For the Israelis it's a sacred land that according to their religions belongs to them and is their promise land. For the Palestinians, it's where Muhammed (Allah's prophet) was sent the the first words of the Qu'ran. So, it's special and sacred to both sides.

"Tensions have run high in Jerusalem since Sunday after authorites closed the al-Aqsa mosque compound in the Old City, claiming people were inciting violence. Clashes broke out, with seven Palestinian protesters injured and three arrested."

It's said that because of clashes like this, the on-going battle will never in. What do you think? Do you think there will ever be peace in the Middle East? What do you think it's going to cost to accomplish this?
